We are excited about our Continuing Education and  Meeting in Lubbock on November 14 and 15.  Our very own Marilyn Ault is doing an all day seminar on Form 990 (what the IRS has in store for CPAs who do 990’s), Compilation and Review, including a few items about GAAP that people who do only non-GAAP financials need to know.  Of course, we always need the latest letters, etc., also.  Then she is going to explain about Credit Swaps and what we need to know about the financial crisis.

Saturday we will have a two hour seminar on Oil and Gas Software, and something new at this meeting is luncheon CPE with 5 different roundtables discussing areas of Management of Accounting Practice.  The discussion leaders will include: Marc Core and Fee Structures, Nathan Reeder with Constructive Enforcement and items of interest at the State Board,  Durlene Gardner with Peer Review Experiences,  Alfredo Robledo with staff retention and problems, and Charles Cooley with client retention.

Because we are the real face of public accounting in Texas, the discussions at all the seminars are open and lively.  I always learn as much from the participants as I do from the instructors.

Hope to see you there.

Please make your Reservations Today! The Texas Association of CPAs, through its members and its Executive Committee, has been very active in working to protect your license and your rights as a CPA by its taking an active role in processes at the State Legislature and State Board levels.  We have made a significant impact.  However, to continue to do so, we need support.
